July - Cornell/City committee selects NADAAA as architect for Means Restriction Study 

August 27 - Email from VP Susan Murphy updates the Cornell community about new mental health promotion strategies, the means restriction study, and temporary bridge barriers

September 10 - Caring Community Forum held to update the Cornell community about new mental health promotion strategies, the means restriction study, and temporary bridge barriers

September 14 - Means Restriction Study Kick-off with Cornell/City Means Restriction Study Committee and two public forums. Purpose: to review the study process and its major milestones, and introduce NADAAA to the community.

October 22 - NADAAA Site Analysis Report draft completed

November 1 - Cornell/City Means Restriction Study Committee meeting with NADAAA architect Naser Tehrani to discuss Site Analysis Report

November 4 - Means Restriction Study website launched to provide materials for public review and opportunity for written input, feedback, questions

November 15 - Cornell/City Means Restriction Study Committee meeting to report back to the committee on discussions held with constituencies outside of the  committee



January: Nader Tehrani continues as lead architect for the means restriction study with new firm, NADAAA.

February 7: NADAAA progress report to the City of Ithaca/CU Means Restriction Study Committee   (hotlink to video?)

February: NADAAA completes Pre-schematic Design phase. 

March 2: Pre-schematic Designs Report – Public presentations:

  • 8:30 - 10 a.m., Best Western University Inn, 1020 Ellis Hollow Road
  • 12 - 1:30 p.m., Bache Auditorium, 228 Malott Hall
  • 4:30 - 6 p.m., Borg Warner Room, Tompkins County Public Library
  • 7:30 - 9 p.m., Call Auditorium, Kennedy Hall

March 4 and 17: City/CU Means Restriction Committee meetings

March 24: Executive Committee on Campus Health and Safety meeting

March 28: Senior Staff and Capital Funding & Priorities Committee meeting

April 4: Public Forums

  • 12:15 - 1:15 p.m., Bache Auditorium, 228 Malott Hall
  • 4:30 - 5:30 p.m., St. Paul's United Methodist Church, 402 N. Aurora Street

April 7: Presentation to the Buildings and Properties Committee, Board of Trustees



April 14: City/CU Means Restriction Committee meeting to include efficacy discussion and design update

May 13: NADAAA to submit schematic design package to the university for review

May 17: Buildings and Properties Committee meeting

May 31: Site Plan Review and Environmental Package due to City of Ithaca

June 28: City Planning Board meeting to include a Design presentation

July 19: Project Review Committee of the Planning Board

July 26: City Planning Board meeting

August 23: City Planning Board meeting
